Most of natural DIY deo recipes rely heavily on baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). The sodium bicarbonate is an edible, completely safe substance, widely used in the kitchen. Unfortunately when used on the skin, because of its high alkalinity, sodium bicarbonate interferes with the PH of our skin (which is slightly acidic) thus increasing the possibility of skin irritations and depigmentation in armpits.
The ph of Oh Lou Lou! RAW Cacao deodorant remains slightly acidic, just like our skin ph which makes it suitable for all types of skin, including the sensitive one!
Our deodorant is not anti-perspiring (it will not stop you from sweating). That’s because the lack of aluminum, the ingredient in conventional antiperspirants that plugs up sweat glands.
